James (Jim) Edward Theis, age 78, was born in Sioux Falls, SD on March 12th 1944 and went to be with the Lord on December 7th 2022 Orange, CA.
James is survived by his wife Joan, his children Jeffery, Rachel, Joseph, Vincent and Gina, his six beloved grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Barbara Davis, 80, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2024, surrounded by her family at Ava’s House Hospice in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Faith Temple Church in Sioux Falls. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Faith Temple Food Giveaway.

Ruth VanDemark has been pastor of Wicker Park Lutheran Church since October 1, 1999. A 1966 graduate of Vassar College, she received a Masters of Theological Studies degree in New Testament Studies from Harvard Divinity School in 1969. In 1976, she graduated with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law and began the practice of law in Chicago in December of that year with a Chicago law firm.
