I continue to be astonished that 50 years have passed since high school. I have been blessed with a life that reads like a great adventure at times and at other times a comedy. I feel my greatest achievement has been my kids. I seem to be at a time in my life where I am saying more "good-byes" than "hellos". Reading the memorials touch my heart. I am determined to attend the reunion and make up for lost opportunities to again say "hello". This will be my first reunion with the class of 1962. |

Tell us about yourself:
I said my good-byes to South Dakota Fall of 1962 and traveled to Washington state to visit my brother at Washington State University. Pullman. ( Go Cougs!) I loved it so much, I began my pre-nursing there. I married in 1963 and we moved to the "Tri-Cities", Kenniwick, WA where our two sons were born. Another move in 1966 to Western Washington, just North of Seattle, Everett, WA. Started back to school part time, as our daughter was born in 1971. Finially graduated in 1979 with RN degree. Soon after, found myself divorced with three kids and a new career. Remarried in 1982. My fourth child was born in 1983, a girl. This marriage was short-lived and ended in divorce in 1985. I took a long hiatus from marriage, raising the kids and building my nursing career at the local hospital. Was at Everett General for 18 years. After hospital nursing I became a case manager for Regence BlueShield Health Insurance for 8 years. I retired in 2006. Although I enjoy retirement, I so miss nursing. In addition to retirement, I married in 2006. Glenn is also retired. We live on a mountain in the foothills of the North Cascade Mountain Range near the small town of Sedro-Woolley, WA. We can look out at Mt. Baker and the Skagit Valley. I see this part of my life as a reward for surviving the tough years. Glenn and I enjoy driving our classic cars to local shows. Glenn has a 1948 Ford pick-up and a 1952 Chevy pick-up and my "baby" is a 1952 Chevy deluxe sedan 2 door. My youngest daughter and her husband blessed us with our only biological grand child, who is an active and healthy 2-year old boy. We have 11 step-grand kids who are just as special. Our daughter is going to nursing school now and I get to watch the two year old twice a week. Keeps me on my toes. |

Tell us about yourself:
Married Don Peters in 1964, and he passed away in 1990. We had 2 children and 4 grandchildren, he met only 2 of them. I have 2 great-grandchildren. Married the love of my life in 2006 after 16 years of "living in sin"!. We are avid bridge players and just starting to play in tournaments. We also love to travel and have visited several different countries. We have a second home on the shores of Lake Havasu and try to get down there at least once a month for a week or so. I received my private pilot's license at the age of 57 and my husband, Joseph and I have a 182 cessna which is lots of fun. Unfortunately, I lost my medical due to heart problems, but Joseph is still current on his license. |

Tell us about yourself: We graduated on a Friday night. The next Wednesday I was in San Diego starting Navy boot camp.In my 8 years in the Navy I received some very good electronics and computer training that helped me through a pretty good 35 year career. I was married for a short time in the 70's but not again until recently when I found my soul mate and former classmate Cheryl Pittenger. As most of you know, we will get married this September 9th during our 50th WHS reunion. |

Tell us about yourself:
I retired last May after 44 years of teaching, mostly at Luther College, Decorah, IA. After a BA from Augustana and an MA from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, I taught a year at the University of Omaha (now the University of Nebraska at Omaha). After five years at Luther, I took a leave to finish my Ph. D. at the University of Minnesota, where I met my husband, Mark Z. Muggli. Back at Luther, the two of us restored an 1896 Victorian house, moved to a shared teaching position, and raised two daughters. One daughter got married last summer; another marries this July. Sabbaticals have allowed us to live in Boston, MA; Austin, TX; Santa Fe, NM; Minneapolis, MN; and Durham and Nottingham, England. I was lucky enough to direct the Luther Poetry Project and found the triennial Lutheran Festival of Writing at Luther. My chapbook of poems, From a Distance, Dancing just came out (Finishing Line, 2011; available on Amazon), and I’m giving a poetry reading at Augustana College on May 1, 2012. |

Tell us about yourself: After graduating from Morningside College, I taught 33 third graders in Bloomington, MN. I returned to Sioux City to marry, divorce, and teach elementary students for 34 years. I enjoyed my 23 years as a single woman. I crewed on a Hobie catamaran for ten years, traveling the Midwest most summer weekends for regattas. I crewed on \"Cloud Nine\" (a 57\' ketch) during a ten week cruise from Australia to Papua New Guinea. I earned my Masters degree from USD before starting to spend summers at a cottage off West Lake Okoboji. In 1998 I married Hank Grant, a teacher and coach from Central Lyon High School in Rock Rapids. We purchased a home in Okoboji which entices his two sons and two grandchildren to visit us. My routine consists of tennis, biking, kayaking, swimming, YMCA classes, golfing, walking, traveling and playing keyboard in a "girl band". We escape the winters by living in Gold Canyon, AZ for a few months. Life is GOOD! |
