Moved after 4 years of college in Missouri to Denver to teach school and my graduate studies in Learning Disabilities. After 7 years began traveling with my husband and had an absolute blast---landed in Phoenix and lived on the Gulf Coast in Texas. Missed my own personal home so moved into Boulder City, Nevada, brought our boat along with our stored furniture and enjoyed water skiing and golfing. Got bored not having a "real purpose" and opened a little cafe and fed many kids---got back to my love for OTHER PEOPLE'S kids!! Have now lived in Las Vegas for 36 years had a real adventure working at a Strip Hotel and Casino in Sales&Marketing. Thereafter got into real estate but my biggest challenge was land acquisition. Purchased, with 3 partners, 10 acres of raw desert and developed that in to 20 half acre home-sites with very up-scale custom home buyers. This is now part of the very prestigious "Summerlin" area which Howard Hughes originally bought for almost nothing in the late 50's. Over the years I've done extensive traveling, especially through Europe---7 times. Have enjoyed both Mexico & Hawaii several times but I really want to return to Greece some day and also adventure to New Zealand. I'm so fortunate to be from Sioux Falls, learning true integrity & honesty, growing up with the nicest of people like all of you. Miss my family Saturday lunches(after catechism) Dad brought home from my favorite---Hamburger Inn!!! I've never missed any of our class reunions, but sadly, I won't be able to make our 50th---have the best of times---all of you!! My very best. |

After graduation I got a degree in Occupational Therapy at U of ND, which served me well as I was destined to be a single parent to 5 small children. I lived and worked in Grand Forks, Fargo, Sioux Falls, Minneapolis, Yankton, Alaska, and this year in Texas. I have 11 granchildren. I have a home in Sioux Falls but spent the last school year near Austin Texas so my daughter could take college classes. I like to putter in general, but especially in the garden, flea markets, and bookstores. I volunteer and am active in church. Frequently I worry about the 30 minutes of aerobic exercise that I do NOT get so I try to climb Crazy Horse every year on my birthday! Love to travel when I can, camp now and then. I enjoy the road less traveled. Going to Costa Rica on a mission trip in July. The best thing I ever did was live and work in Alaska for one year. The saddest thing that has happened to me was the loss of of my 9 year old twin boy, Toby, in 1988 in an accident on I 29. Looking back on my high school years I regret that I was too shy to join most activities, so I have tried to make up for it in my life now. :) |
