CAROLE ANDERSON
1944-12-28 2024-04-11
Carole Jean Anderson, age 80, passed away peacefully with family and staff on April 11, 2024, at Touchmark at All Saints, after a two-year battle with dementia and strokes.
Carole was born December 28, 1943, to Edward and Gwen Kunze in Cadillac Michigan, the third of three children. Growing up, the family lived in Bryan TX, Duluth MN, Indianapolis IN, then Sioux Falls SD. Carole graduated from Washington High School. She married Russell Anderson and had three children: Kurt (Jill), Julie (Jean), and Ryan (Jennifer). Carole has nine grandchildren: Chace (Wenjun), Jake, Josh, Joseph, Darren, Nathan, Kayla, Mason, and Cory (Colleen) and one great grandson, Charlie.
Carole enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She went for walks on lunch breaks and with her grandkids and Ryan's dogs on quiet gravel roads. Carole started rollerblading for a while, until falling and hurting her wrist. She enjoyed golfing, exercise, reading, and nutrition. Mom really looked forward to being on Ryan's quiet acreage out in the country. It was her way of relaxing on the weekends.
Her faith in God was evident during times of stress, when she would call out to God for help. While Mom was at Touchmark, Kurt would end each visit with a prayer, often the Lord's Prayer, which Mom said with Kurt.
Carole worked as a store manager at Wayne and Mary’s Nutrition Center and as a tailor and salesperson at Haegle’s West. She lived in Sun City, Arizona, for a few years assisting father Edward “Bud,” after Gwen died. She then moved back to Sioux Falls to be with family and grandchildren. Carole worked as an Office Assistant for 21 years for her son, Ryan, at Scots Lawn Service and then Anderson’s Pest Control.
Carole is survived by her brother Edward “Ed” Kunze, sister-in-law Norene Kunze, nephew Christopher Kunze, and all of her children and grandchildren. Carole was preceded in death by her parents, and brother James Kunze.
